Birthdays are probably my favorite thing. I love planning them, I love going to them and most importantly, I love when it’s mine. Sometimes planning a birthday can be stressful, especially with a pandemic, luckily more things are opening up and becoming available. If you’re in you’re 20’s and looking for fun and unique birthday party ideas, then look no further. Keep reading for amazing party ideas.
Boozy Brunch
This one obviously goes without saying. With this idea you can go to a bottomless brunch restaurant, or you can host a boozy brunch at your house. Restaurants will usually have bottomless brunch with fixated prices and accommodate large parties. If you want to do it your self at your house, you can have a mimosa bar with different fruit juices to mix with champagne. You can either get food catered to your house, order from a deli, or cook a bunch of bacon and eggs.
Themed House Party
I see so many funny themed party ideas on TikTok, there’s really a lot of unique themes you can pick that fit you best. Some fun ones I saw were: Taylor Swift, where everyone dresses up based off a different Taylor album. Wig Party, every one comes in a funny colorful wig. Joe Party, every once comes up dresses as a different Joe (ie. G.I. Joe, Joe Jonas or Joe Exotic.) Decades Party, everyone wears an outfit from a different decade. TV/Movie party, everyone dresses up as their favorite TV or Movie character. Nothing like bringing it back to those college days.
Have a Board Game Party
I love games, I think they’re so much fun, especially mixed with alcohol and friends. Have all your friends sit around at table, pick out your favorite board games and go to town. You can have a mixed drink bar in the corner and can even make some of the games more interesting with some fun prizes. Some of my favorite games include: Cards Against Humanity, Balderdash, What do you Meme?, Kings, Head Up, Picolo, Red Flags and Telestrations. All of these games are so much fun and are guaranteed to make you laugh and get you drunk.
Host a Trivia Night. . . About Yourself
See how well all of your friend really know you. Create a Powerpoint trivia about yourself and invite all ur friends over. You can order pizza, drink some cocktails and have some laughs. Some funny slide category ideas would be hook-ups I’ve had, celebrities I would bang, or my favorite fashion trends from middle school. You can also add in some random “take a sip” slides in there.
Rent an AirBNB with a Pool
Have you and your friends maybe travel some where about an hour away, and all rent a house with a pool. You can buy some cute pool floats, play some beer pong, do some tanning and have a cute photoshoot. Obviously, you don’t have to rent an AirBNB, if you or one of your friends has a pool, definitely save some money and utilize that. But, if you live with ur parents still or you just want to get away, get super drunk, have a boy/girl sleepover situation after a night of drinking, this can be a great idea.
Have a Kayaking Day
If your birthday is during the summer or you live somewhere warm, kayaking can be a fun thing to do with your friends. You can get matching shirts made, bring a speaker, blast music and paddle around. Group-on has some great deals if you’re looking to save some money. After your 2hr kayaking is over, you and your friends can hang at the beach and go swimming. Great way to spend a summer Birthday.
Have a drink party
On TikTok, I see so many cool drink parties. Here each person will bring a fun themed drink and everyone at the party gets to try and then rate the drink. Everyone will get drunk and get to share a fun drinks. You can make the drinks extra special by using fun cups dressing up to match your drink. You can also order a pizza or have a cute charcuterie board. Kathleen Lights on TikTok has these every moth with her friends and has some great theme ideas.
Karaoke bar
Karaoke is always a good idea, especially when you’re drunk. There are so many places that have there own karaoke set-ups, most even have an open-bar deal. If you don’t want to go to the bar, you can just have your friends over your house and have a DIY karaoke set up. Pick up a microphone and pull up the lyric-version of a song on youtube, and there you go. Your friends can even dress up as the artist of the song they’re going to sing, for an added bonus.
Have a Free Day
If drinking isn’t really your thing, don’t worry there are other ways to celebrate. Many food places around town give out birthday freebies. Whats better than getting free stuff? Nothing! Some places that participate with birthday freebies include: Starbucks-drink, Panera-pastry, Krispy Kreme-12 glazed donuts, Moe’s-burrito, Chik-fil-a -dessert, Buffalo Wild Wings- 6 wings, Red Robin- free burger, Dunkin Donuts- drink, Auntie Ann’s- pretzel, Baskin Robbins- 1 scoop ice cream, TacoBell- Baja blast drink. Yes, all of this is free the day of your birthday!
Visit the Winery
Who doesn’t love wine? Wineries usually offer a tasting flights with some snacks. There’s usually something for everyone. Wineries are perfect for sundresses and pictures in the vineyard. This is more of a classy birthday vibe that everyone will love. Even in the winter, wineries usually have a nice indoor section, and most have those outdoor igloo you can sit in.
Hit the club
This one is the most basic idea but, one of the best. Theres nothing better than getting all dressed up and going to the club with your girlfriends. To make yourself feel extra special, get your nails done, your hair blown out and buy a sexy outfit. Looking good and dancing all night long never fails for a killer birthday. Your birthday is your day and you deserve to feel special and appreciated.
